i am impressed, you got real close. normally they would escape before you can take a picture. looks like a ringelnatter to me. ( i used to keep them in a terrarium in germany)
i caught lots of them.

this grass snake was after lunch and has a frog inside, so he was trying to swallowing it, that why opened mouth, the shore of this puddle was steep, so i get in water and was about 25cm from it and could make a photo...he wasn't super active cause had a big big frog in his stomack hahahah so i could make a lot of photos :)
