the occasion is the wedding of my niece...all these girls are from the bride's side and waiting to welcome the groom and his entourage!

yes, corainna, it is our custom to adorn the hands with henna at festivals and ceremonies....powdered henna leves are mixed with water to make a paste and then applied in intricate patterns....in about an hour's time it is washed off and leaves this colour on the skin....it fades off in a few days...

i know:):)i has vizit India 4 times and i has buy henna and i hascolor my haire with henna.. but, this lady have wonderful paiting on her hand.. actually in India the ladys drow wonderful paterns on theyr hand
