Whenever there is something to see, a crowd gathers instantly, especially when it's for free. During the last days all Berlin newspapers announced that the newly renovated "Emporer Friedrich Museum" (now Bode Museum) will be opened for 3 days this weekend. The speciality: No exhibition will be presented, just the plain, empty rooms. Thousands of Berliners took the chance, and it definitly was worth it, fighting its way through the overcrowded empty halls and cabinets of the museum. If I was in charge, I'd give direct order to keep the main rooms empty. It feels so open and free and wide! Stuffed with sculptures, paintings and showcases, this house will become quite normal and a bit boring like many museums. | |
