Ther arren't that many bugs in early march so I had to stich with flowers. Btw I tested some of my father's lenses too to discover what's best for macros. Guess what? the best one is still the 18-55 kit ^_^: the tamron 28-70 produces very similar results and the difference does't justify the lack of af and auto aperture so I won't carry around that lens any more. I also tested another tamron, a 70-200, it is better than the kit lens but only if there is not too much contrast, otherwise purple fringing becomes an issue and the lack of light exceeds the slow shutter + stabilization capabilities (closing the aperture helps a lot but again the weight/distance/quality ratio is not that favorable). I achieved the maximum magnification with the 2x teleconverter + 70-200 but again all those issues confirm that for "casual" macro shooting the best lens I have is still the kit lens ^_^' | |
