f3.6 iso80 1/50s 35mm, from 4cm I prefered to trade a bit of sharpnes with a little closer close up, wonder if I'd better stay in the 5cm limit of the camera and then crop&interpolate... mmm, I think it should be just the same but the fly didn't give me a second opportunity and I won't go huntin flies to test! ;-)

There is a lot of room for focus error at 5 cm. I can go to 1cm but my success rate is very small. When I do get good ones they are brilliant. However I think that if you find out how close you can be assured of sharpness, then crop you will get more good pictures than guessing if the focus is telling you the truth. I wish I had Image stablising.
