Now I am sure I should have image stableiser. I cannot get that sharp with my s9000 at full zoom. So it is green cheese the moon is made of. The tech data says 535mm. Which one is it. I am impressed.

It's a pana fz30. It has the image stabilizer and it works great. the 535 in the data is due to that strange solution of reducing the sensor surface employed when the resolution is lowered... with a bit of maths they say that 420mm at 8mpx becomes 535 (or 15x, or whatever) at 5mpx. In the end the result is still conceptually speaking a cropping, but as it is a "TTL cropping" I gues it's the best half way possible between optical and digital zoom.

WOW! Great photo of moon! Pana FZ30 is fantastic, maybe my next camera.
