Anyone who draws, paints, shades, whatever knows that when you are working on a piece of art for a long time, and you are in its "face" constantly, you begin to hate it. You see everything that is wrong with it and think all the details are messed up, and everyone is telling you it's looking awesome and you want to shot them and say, "What picture are you looking at? Shut up!"
But then you finish it and you take a few steps back and realize it doesn't look so bad.
Then the next day you go back and look at it and realize it looks kinda good.
Then the next day you look at it again and smile, 'cause you know it friggin' ROCKS! (Or maybe it's just perfectionist me, and I'm clinically insane.)

Yeah, well this one took me forever and by the time it was finished (2 months later), I was so frustrated and I HATED it. It took me a week to start to like it again.

Haha...now I kinda like it.

Very good drawing. I happen to own a set of these goblets and I recognized it right away! And you are right about how artists feel about their work, but don't let it stop you. When you gotta create, you gotta create!!! : ))
