I'd never seen it done either, but Tom33 found quite a lot on google video / Youtube.
Search on round hay baler and enjoy! It's quite clever.

Nice shot indeed, saw some oblong bales here in England, but absolutely no chance to stop anywhere to photograph them :-(( Small country lane with a string of lorries going each way !!
