The Instituto Tomie Ohtake, in São Paulo, presents the new trends in national and international art, beyond those that are references in the last 50 years, coinciding with the period of work of artist who names the space, Tomie Ohtake. She is born in Japan, but a naturalized Brazilian.
It has 7500 m2 for exhibitions of art, architecture and design, specific rooms for workshops, seminars and documentation, restaurant, bookstore and gift object and over 6500 m2, still under construction for two theaters and a cinema contemplate music, performing arts and audio-visual. Instituto Tomie Ohtake, opened in November 2001, is installed in a business complex with two office buildings, a convention center, connected by a large hall, restaurant, bookstore and gift objects.
