São 155.000 hectares de dunas entrelaçadas por milhares de lagoas de águas doces e cristalinas, azuis e verdes.
O portal de entrada dos Lençóis Maranhenses é a cidade de Barreirinhas, localizada às margens do Rio Preguiças, ao norte do estado do Maranhão no Brasil.
