On Friday [9 june 06], an estimated 700,000 Thais thronged the streets around Bangkok's Royal Plaza to hear the king deliver a rare public address in which he made a call for national unity.


Millions of Thais wore their king's royal color Friday, turning Bangkok — and much of the nation — into a sea of yellow.
