Thanx backstreets! If I find the time I'll always try to participate, I love such events! This time it was terse but I made it, even though it's close to the end of friday here...

Huh? Here is still friday... Have there been any times for this event? If yes, it should be GMT, because fotothing is UK...

To be exact: I got that with next week, I just wanted to be sure that this week is still running...

Thanx jamby! My wife told me about making it less sharp to have it real old style but I wanted to have both: classic style AND sharpness. :)

good idea...thanks for sharing the lesson to me!!! i know i still got much more to learn...so..keeping an eye of your work and added you now on my frineds list as this image as my fav....jamby

Yes, I noticed that you added me and I did the same. You got some great pictures and that's the point I use for the list: to keep track of those ones who make pictures I like. It's something different than favourites. I do have favourites from people which have only few pictures I like. But in the friends list are only people which have at least 5 or 10 very good pictures! ;)

BTW, I'm not a big photograph, a lot of stuff the camera is doing for me (This Canon is really a magic machine), except such compositions like this here. But even here it's mostly software (gimp, by the way), I just try to arrange it. :)

I see...thatīs something I havenīt even try once...the Photoshop..Iīve bought a software already though..I do still need to upgrade the computer..in order for me to install the software...

I'm sorry, but I can't help you with that. I neither have windows software anymore (4 years windows free now) nor do I have software which costs money, only open source stuff.

i see....so you are using apple computer then?
Jul 21 2006 22:18 GMT uwp
Hey, didn't I mention Open Source and no costs? Apple is more expensive than Microsoft. I only use Linux.
Jul 21 2006 22:20 GMT jamby PRO
Open Source? never heard of that term...sorry!!!

Hm, where to begin...

What about those:

Test it yourself with a Live-CD/DVD (Download):
www.knoppix.com

Other Linux-Distributions:
www.ubuntu.com
www.redhat.com
www.suse.com

I myself am using Debian Linux: www.debian.org

It's completely free, but it's not a good starting point for beginners (I started with SuSE in the year 1997).

Or try to search for Linux in Google or other searching machines. Careful, it maybe about 50 million pages, it's very popular these days...
