I guess he called it a barbarian outfit. We're here in Prussia and therefore Bavarians are not very popular. But I think it fits on a gay pride festival. :)
And the other tribes in Germany have reached the 21st century here, they don't wear the old stuff in public anymore.
Just the Bavarians want to stay in middle-age traditions. :)))))
OOHH....it would just be me stepping into it.....:-)))))))
I do not know much about Europe....we just went to Oberammergau in 2000
for the Passion Plays and we thought it was sooo a beautiful area.....from a tourist point of view.......first visit to Europe......and then a town like that....!!
wellll.......in your Country we will always just be tourist....:-)
LizSA: you know what's really funny? Most tourists think that bavarian culture is equal to the standard german culture, but the opposite is true. Bavarian culture is so different compared to the rest of the german tribes. And they're not nearly the majority, I think about 15% of all Germans are Bavarians. But when I go abroad, I can always see Octoberfest, Lederhosen (Leather trousers like Thilo's here) and Blasmusik (old Brass Oompah style music). This is not german and in fact I'm not the only German who "dislikes" it (the term dislike is a bit too polite, but I think, if I would tell my opinion about old bavarian culture, the words would be too hard here...)
