In a harsh cruel land shrouded in darkness even in midday (GMT+0) and seemingly abandoned by God, we get a view of rapidly flowing ice water under the surface of the river and in the veins of the photographer. Fortunately most here do have the internet, an electronic community that is all seeing, all knowing, all consuming, all forgiving and all punishing. Otherwise life here would be unviable and intolerable. Efforts are being made locally to convert those who have not yet joined the e-community of the internet. As you can see the locals here are not in view, probably hibernating in their homes to celebrate the high holiday.
Arrrrgh laddy there be a hint of Great Whites about. Mind where you step.
Often wolves and other creatures cross the river from the wilderness on the other side, over the ice cap on top of the river, in midwinter and then roam the edges of the city. Beware the Great Whites.

Note: There seems to be a colour shift in the display of this picture on the website. There was a slight colour cast in the sky at the location of this photograph due to the overcast and the rising sun at the edge of the horizon out side the camera view and to the left. It was in the red side of the spectrum but the bias seems to increase the pink shifting.
