On the coldest day of the year, a view of the rivers edge. The vapourous ice flowing in the air and liquid ice flowing in the river channel.
A colder shade of white than we usually get here.

I like the juxtaposition of nature and the cityscape in the background.

That's what the city planners and city fathers work for here.

I don't know how you cope with that amount of cold, I actually feel quite cold at 10 c.

It can be a difficult environment if you don't have a place to get out of the cold. The other day when this was photo was made the temperature during the night was less than -30 c. and -27 c at the time of exposure. When I was young -40 F/ c wasn't uncommon during the winter. (-40 is the same temperature in Celius and Fahrenheit) here in this city. At one time when I was young I had to work with animal hides at a temperature of -25 or -30 c they were like wooden planks with a shag covering also stiff. The skins had just come from an abattoir by rail.
