A heritage building renovation project that seems to have gone into suspended animation and stagnation.
The portrait painted on the hoarding at this street corner seems to have some firelight in the reflections of the sun glasses and has a "flinty" sort of quality to it.
The former site of the "Lockmaster Pub and Hotel". The name has a certain historical cachet and some interesting spin. The building was a real fixer upper right from the time it was built in terms of its architectural design and usage. That is apparent from its current state and appearance. At one time there were several of these sort of establishments in the vicinity but obviously the purpose they served has passed away. Judging from its state the project to resurrect it has become short of capital and investors and that probably explains its lack of progress.
One wonders if it might be better to liquidate or demolish the existing building and erect something new which has some of the original detailing and features in its design but is dedicated to a current purpose and serves a current demand. There seems to be some impatience to have this street corner proceed with its redevelopment.
