This speeding-discouraging device was deployed on my street over a week ago, but only worked (displaying the speed of oncoming cars and flashing its side lights for those who exceeded 25) for two days before it went dead. Oddly, the police have not yet been by to change the batteries or remove it.

They're not visible in the photo, but this one had solar cells, too! But I guess they weren't sufficient or maybe it was broken. The cops finally towed it away this morning.

We just have speed cameras here. Over the limit, it takes a picture you get a fine and points on yer licence. Bloody Gatso Speed Cameras
