This reminded me of old Soviet-era ephemera. The next thing I thought is that we usually see this kind of decay as being someplace else, when really, it is all around all of us all the time.

yeah--and it's still standing at my bus stop--the damage along the left side of the sign is from the drivers hitting it with the bus while pulling to the curb for passengers. . .
but, hey, it still works (both the sign and the bus)!
