May 11 - 1989. My second son's 20th birthday. We were going to celebrate.
Then the phone came from the Hospital. My fathers heartoperation had failed.

I got hold of 3 of my children, picked some flowers from my fathers favourite appletree and drove to the hospital. None of my children had seen a dead human. I told them, grandpas soul still exits, so we must talk to him. About all the happy moments we have had together...

My children did. They were happy we could talk to him like that. For the last time.

Dear taboe: what a great way to take leave of your father together with the children. I think what you did, and how you did it, must have set an example your children (and later on your grandchildren) will benefit by during the rest of their lives!

What a strange day...a day to celebrate...becomes the opposite..in the other way, this is a special moment too, to remember..I know all about that, have prepered for them hundreds of time...our patients that died and the loved ones on their way to take the last goodbye...
