As 11th November approaches I decided to make a tribute to our troops.....Please view original.
There stands a lonely church peaceful and still,
With Ghosts like nimbus cloud high on the hill,
Wandering like lost soles wearily they tread,
Restlessly seeking to place that tired head,
Ghosts of the past with many tales to tell,
Of blood red battle fields where most of them fell,
A sea of red from Flanders Poppies delight,
Remembering this symbol of love so bright,
Love for our brave ones who fought long for our peace,
A war to end all wars where carnage would cease,
We will remember them though we never met,
Give thanks and wear a poppy, lest we forget.
