Always when we go to a beautiful Cathedral do they have scaffold outside.....cleaning it or something..Cologne also this time..it is still very impressive though....never have I seen such crowds we had to walk one way along the streets due to the volume of people....and at one time you couldn't walk around the market.. everyone and his dog had descended on Cologne for the christmas marketslllYes Hans we had Gluh wine and a fish sandwich at one of the stalls in the larger market..many thanks for all your comments Wishing everyone A Happy New Year......

Thor be prepared for crowds......never have I seen somany people in one place...the streets were like a mass of walkers all going one way...woe betide you if you tried to get to the wrong side of the crowd...pedestrian ways were in to the city on the left..out of the city on the right....we could take note of this in our shopping crowds...
