Hi Hans. Thanks for your nice comment. It's in Birmingham which is right in the centre of England and further from the sea than any other city!! Having said that, the city is roughly equidistant (100 - 125 miles) from the sea in 4 directions.

I'm afraid I can't say Hans other than that Birmingham sent many thousands of men and women to the forces during the war (and probably still does) and I would Imagine quite a few to the Marines and Submarines.
