During Holy Week in the Philippines (March to April), it is a tradition for some individuals to re-enact Jesus Christ's crucifixion. Often they are called fanatics, people who vowed to go through the motion of being crucified every Holy Week. Long nails are driven through their hands and feet, who would in their right mind do this?

As I witnessed first hand the ordeal that these people go through, I came to the conclusion that FAITH is the real reason behind this tradition. Some have been blessed by some kind of miracle in their lives and this is what they do to repay the LORD.

I saw a documentary on this practice once. I find it amazing that people will actually carry a cross through the streets and then get nailed to it. Nice photo!
