This is Saint Kevin's round tower in Glandalough, built by Kevin and the monks around the 6th century, partially destroyed by attack over the century's, but thankfully it is now restored to it's former glory, standing 30 metres high in the Wicklow mountains.

	Jun 29 2012 19:44 GMT Petermosull A classic Celtic building Joe, I have neve been to Glandalough, I really must do something about that, these round towers are so wonderful, we have a nice one here in Kerry at a place called Rattoo, one of the few surviving in-tact towers, check out: http://www.roundtowers.org/rattoo/index1.htm a few of my pics are there too!
