Syria, near Furglus, May 2009

The 1st of May we left Palmyra for Hama and Aleppo. A short break for tea in a "Beehive House".
These houses are made of mud and a typical view in the Syrian desert. They only need repair after heavy rain!

Did you know New Zealand's parliament house is called "The Beehive", so I did have a wee snigger to my self.

fascinating structures - looks like a grand opening for fresh air

Tom, it is the only opening indeed, no windows. But it seems to be very cool in summer and warm in winter!
