Longhouse of the Iban people

The Iban people live in huge, so-called, longhouses (20 or more families in one house). The Ibans are a branch of the Dayak people of Borneo. They were renowned for practising headhunting. In ancient times the Ibans were a strong and successful warring tribe in Borneo.
The longhouse in the picture above can only reached by boat, a 30 min. trip through the jungle of Sarawak:
