Syria, Bosra, April 2009

A last view at this magnificent Roman Theater from early 2nd century.
It is estimated that this theater would have seated 15000 people.
We have tested the acoustics. It was amazing: http://www.sacred-destinations.com/syria/bosra.htm

Thanks for sharing this ... a lost art the building of these, no need for enhancement of actors voice other than that done naturally by the structure

this is in such incredible shape - wow!

I saw one of these in the middle of Switzerland (way back in 1994) - it had perfect acoustics - I could whisper on the stage and Gail could hear me anywhere in the theatre!

Yes Bill, we did a similar experiment! They told us that the structure of the seats were designed such that you get this amazing acoustic effect.
