A lovely mill shot Peter..I wonder; do you have post mills in holland, where the mill is supported on a hefty center post and three or four diaganal supporting struts??.....

The second type is the one you described.

Thanks for the two mill shots Peter, yes it was the second type..I have a copy of a photo of a working postmill which belonged to one of my ancestral relations, on my mothers side of the family..If you wish i will enter it here on FT..

I would like to see it Geoff. There are not many post mills in the Netherlands.
Btw, it would also be a great contribution to the mill club of FT!
