At the entrance of the Pindaya Caves
Myanmar (Burma), Pindaya, March 2012
Pindaya is a town in the Shan State of Burma. Mainly famous for its limestone caves called Pindaya Caves where thousands of Buddha images have been consecrated for worship over the centuries.
Lalbabu asked about the meaning of the spider. At internet I found that there is a legend of the seven princesses of Bagan bathing in a nearby lake and how they were captured by a giant spider and trapped in the cave to be rescued by Prince Kummabhaya of Yawnghwe. A sculpture of the spider has been added in recent times at the entrance of the covered stairway to the caves: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pindaya_Caves
