Last Tuesday Pietje showed us the picture http://www.fotothing.com/Pietje/photo/f3f2c000552fab1124affc8513cc6b13/ in which you see a pocket watch.
It reminded me that I had a similar watch. I got it from the grandfather of my wife. It is about 100 years old and still in a good condition (1 min. late in 24 hours).
My grandfather-in-law got it in 1910 when he left his first employer after 25 years.
So this is my (early) entry for Memory Tuesday 25 Dec. 2007.

Senna...this watch is beautiful.....my father collected pocket watches....I should bring out some of them to photograph....I rarely look at them......keeping them for the grandchildren....

Yes, such items are nice to pass to grandchildren. At the time, I was very surprised that I got the watch although I was not a "true" grandson.
