Close-up of the Sassenpoort
Netherlands, Zwolle, May 2010
Of the three city gates Zwolle once had, the Sassenpoort is the only gate which is still intact. It dates back to the beginning of the 15the century and was a status symbol of the town.
I couldn't find additional information in English, only in Dutch: http://www.bertsgeschiedenissite.nl/middeleeuwen/eeuw15/zwolle_stadswallen.htm
