When I saw your picture of this Zaandam house and searched for the one I posted at FT, I also found this one. I remember that when I was waiting for a more quiet moment for a picture without tourists, I chose another angle so that the tourists were behind the bushes! This was the result.

It looks like a mini-palace! How beautiful!

Linny, this type of houses is very typical for the Zaandam area, about 30 km North of Amsterdam.
