Netherlands, Bussum, February 2009

The solution to my Guess What Friday entry shown in the picture at the right is "Kaasduimen" which translates to "Cheese thumbs". Following a suggestion of Linnywv, we could also call them "Cheese Jewelry"!
In the past, some families thought you were not supposed to touch the food with your hands. WE never use them!

Peter...I miss the great variety of cheeses you have in Europe.....we can find them in some of our stores but not all of them...

Jake, this cheese is called "Old Amsterdam". Of the Dutch cheeses it is my favourite!

Interesting! I have never seen such things for cheese. They remind me of the corn handles some people use for corn on the cobb.
