It is not Tijl Uilenspiegel Bea, but a so-called "Gaper" (yawner). In the Netherlands pharmacies and chemists have such signs often at their shop.

Die verklaring kende ik niet Elja, maar het zou natuurlijk heel goed kunnen!
Van Dale noemt overigens alleen de naamgeving "gaper" voor dit soort houten koppen bij drogisterijen.

Senna...what an eye-catcher....is this type of decoration common on store fronts in the Netherlands.....we have our old cigar store statues but nothing as colourful as these....
