Yes coral or even a little like a sponge, but fungi ? probably my third choice on the thumbnail. Ain't nature interesting !

Interestingly, I just read an article the other day on mushrooms and this is similiar to a mushroom called Enoki. I'm not an expert on mushrooms, so there may be several alike, but the one example I did read of a coral like mushroom, is called Enoki.

Excellent capture and more importantly... excellent find!

At least rare for me Sheila, I never saw this type of mushroom before and in my guide of common European mushroom I could not find one that had any resemblance.

I have checked all Coral fungi at the Biopix site and the Rosso coral seems to come closest: http://www.biopix.com/Species.asp?Searchtext=Ramaria%20botrytis&Category=
