Fallen sequoia tree in Mariposa Grove.
This is not a good picture because it was taken against the light, but it serves to illustrate my entry for Proverb Monday:
"Wanneer een boom ter aarde zijgt, maakt ieder dat hij takken krijgt" ~ "When a tree falls down, everybody tries to get its branches" meaning that people are very greedy to get the possessions of the deceased.
Apparently this was the case in the past when this proverb came into use!
