Hortus Botanicus of Amsterdam
Netherlands, Amsterdam, April 2008

The Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam is one of the oldest botanical gardens of the world. It contains about 6000 plants and over 4.000 different species. Originally the Hortus was a medicinal herb garden, founded in 1638. Thanks to the VOC (United East Indian Company) the Hortus became larger and larger. It now contains many exotic plants and trees, e.g. a 300 years old bread tree from South Africa.

Unfortunately I did not make pictures of the lables with each main photo. I am still not fully accustomed to digital photography which can also be used to make notes!

could be some agava OR aloe species ..
but if it grows in thailand too, it's aloe something ... :-)
they have no agavas over there ...
