Yes you are right, it is a sad to see these animals in zoo's. Fortunately, most zoos have improved the living space for the animals considerably in the last years.

Actually, in this pitiful day and age, this may well be the safest place on earth for him.

That is true Will. Moreover, the apes in this zoo are in big families and have quite a lot of space. Most of them are quite active and playing with each other. I have more mixed feelings with the lions, tigers and bears. They need to hunt I think.

I can agree with you there, I think you are right! A long time ago I was working at a place where the animals really did have a lot of space; lions in particular. We had a truck we drove out to feed them in the afternoon and they really went wild after it of course as we were throwing there dinner off it! But, one could see, it didn't come close to satifsying their natural instincts! Still, it was better than seeing them caged up! I love animals so much! If I could start over again now, I'd devote myself to them and the environment! In my own way, I'm doing that now! Thanks! :)
