Seven Pillars of Wisdom (at the left of the picture)
Jordan, Wadi Rum, May 2009
This is my first contribution to Pea's HDR Club. The original photo was quite dull. Motivated by recent HDR images of Peter and Sylvia I tried to make it more vivid using HDR software.
The Seven Pillars of Wisdom is a large rock formation in Wadi Rum, named after the book of Thomas Edward Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia). This book is an autobiographical account of his experiences as a British soldier. He was renowned especially for his liaison role during the Arab Revolt of 1916-18: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Pillars_of_Wisdom
