Tin box designed by Escher
Netherlands, Bussum, August 2007
In 1963 the Dutch "Verenigde Blikfabrieken" (= "United Tin Companies") celebrated their 75th anniversary (1888-1963). At this occasion Escher designed a special tin box. Only 200 copies were produced. I was lucky and got one when I attended a lecture by Escher. Not aware of its value it disappeared in our basement. When we saw it exposed in a museum in New York we went for a search and found it back, a bit rusty, but still in an acceptable condition.
