Sultan Abdul Samad Building: HDR experiment
Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Merdeka Square, April 2011

It is located in front of the Dataran Merdeka (Independence Square) and the Royal Selangor Club. The structure takes its name from Sultan Abdul Samad, the reigning sultan of Selangor at the time of construction (1894-1897): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sultan_Abdul_Samad_Building

Beautiful, I saw it only from far aways, because there was a bicycle-race..... the bus could not come closer, so we (hanny50 and I)missed this building.....but we have seen the batu caves and that was beautiful too....:-))

I am sorry, I am a little behind things... how did this work out as a HDR experiment?
The sharpness and precision composition dazzles me... like everything fits exactly into its place... the symmetry of this entire construction is incredible... it seems that even the palm trees have been "built" into it.

Doris HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. For a true HDR image you need several photos of the same object taken at different exposure settings. The HDR software provides a single image which is a seemingly 3-dimensional with more emphasis on lighter and darker parts. For single photos you can get HDR-like effects by using tone mapping. A more full description of the HDR technique and links where you can get free HDR software downloads is given at: http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-high-dynamic-range-hdr-software.htm
