Here are dear duckies brought to the Exhibition from the place where my late grandma Lydia was born in 1899, it's the North Caucasus, Russia, the land of Caucasians later joined by cossacks. She was a Kuban cossack and as a teen she enjoyed horse riding in the mountains all night long... Later she became a surgeon, seemingly one of few ladies of this profession in late 1930-s in Moscow, Russia.
So it's Stanitsa (cossack village) Zelenchukskaya and it's ducks that I'm celebrating today.
