We took a long hike along the Buffalo National River and found White Dog-Toothed Violets or White Trout Lilies (Erythronium albidum), We have the yellow ones where we live but not the white, so this was a first for me. Now we have snow.

I love Erythroniums....there are yellow ones in my Dad's garden....from the thumb it looks like a stork carrying a baby in a nappy in its beak!
