I start a new series at Fotothing, its called Vasai boat pulling.
Just before the rains set in the Kolis or indegenous fishermen of Mumbai who stay near Vasai drag their boats with the help of hundreds of laborers.
I have not gone there since two years .
This event was introduced to me by my Guru Shreekanth Malushte..
A teacher who has shown me what I never knew about my own city and state.
Through him I shot a tribal fair, Konkan coastline, Ganpatipule, the western ghats, and the quintessential bullock cart race..at Alibagh and Murud Janjira.
My world of pictures is not just blood sweat and tears..
Its pictorial prose that you read as a poem.

Boat Pulling at Vasai
This is a new series of an event where the fishing boats are manually pulled in ashore before the monsoon sets in..the advantage of this shoot is you get to shoot the Vasai16 th century Portuguese Fort and graveyard too , though the ancient graves are used by Tantric Naga Sadhus to exorcise demons..
I was invited to one such do I refused.
