This little kid is Sairam.
From the moment I entered the Temple premises to shoot the feast of Maryamma , he pursued me , he wanted me to shoot his pictures with his best friend , and each picture I posted I only titled it Sairam..
He was going to pierce his cheeks he told me, he was very eager , his rod was sharp like a stiletto point..
I forgot about him, but later I shot his pictures on the beach of his piercings, there was a tinge of fear in his eyes, I hope I have captured it all , I never check my pictures I work on them one at a time..
After the piercing I shot him sitting down, he was tense, and a lady sat a liitle away from him, I asked her if she was his mother and she began to cry..silently.
I told her to wipe her tears and took her picture I thought they were tears of joy..
But than she told me that Sairam is a Ziddi child, meaning a stubborn child , he is adamant , he would pierce his cheeks come what may..
I told her that her son was on the right path of his spirituality , than she said bitterly he is my only child, my other fellow died on the Mahim road , he was knocked away by a speeding car and I see him in Sairam..
I too had tears in my eyes
Being a poet I shot her picture with my minds eyes.
This is poetic faith a holistic science that heals .
