Nzshutter's Fotothing

The Rally of Otago is taking place over this weekend and I went out to see what the action was going to create photowise. Here is a series of shots I took of cars racing in Special Stage 5, which was within walking distance from my home. There were 97 cars taking part but not all got to the stage that I was watching. And this was on the first day.

This is Hayden Paddon in an Evo 9 Mitsubishi. This up and coming young fellow really makes Richard Mason work for his placings. If he is not winning stages over Mason, he is second but on ly after a really good try at beating Masons times.
I have just found out Hayden has won this rally. He ended the final stage with a 19.7 sec lead over Richard Mason who was unlucky to puncture 12 - 13 kms from the end.
