Nzshutter's Fotothing

The Rally of Otago is taking place over this weekend and I went out to see what the action was going to create photowise. Here is a series of shots I took of cars racing in Special Stage 5, which was within walking distance from my home. There were 97 cars taking part but not all got to the stage that I was watching. And this was on the first day.

This is Alister McRae from Scotland, who I think is Colin McRae's brother. Alister was competeing in the "Classics" part of the rally. This car that he is driving is a Ford Escort RS1800. They are a pushrod engine from years ago and they rev like you cant imagine. They have a distinct sound of their own and sound so sweet when you hear them blast past. :-)
