We used to have 10 acres of olives...I miss them. My aunt would have a huge barrel in her kitchen and we would lift the lid off and scoop up a handful of them out of the brine and eat them....I loved that they had pits to eat around...made them more interesting and fun to eat.
She will send them to the co-oprative to be turned into the best Olive Oil.
It's not just the one tree that has to be picked, it's a Finca (farm) their land goes right across the back of our house, there are many olive orange and lemon trees to pick. :-))
