Yes I think they had Larry!
We live here all year and hardly have a tan at all... we try to keep out of the sun as much as we can, I never could understand why the tourists suffer in order to go brown.....it only lasts a few weeks when they get back home! :-))

You're right on the money there. In the summer I dress like an Arab desert person. I try to cover almost all of my skin with light clothing. It's better UV protection than lotions. I've spent too much time outdoors with exposed skin already during my life.
How do you manage to get around without sun exposure to take photo's. Have you adopted the Bhurka custom.
As I said "as much as we can",... it's quite possible to be stood in the shade taking a photo of people in the sun...and it's by far the most comfortable place to be, as a general rule here only the tourists have a tan. :-)
For the three main summer months when it's extremely hot here we stay indoors in the hottest part of the day with the air-con running.....it's one of the luxuries of not having to go out to work!
We very quickly learned to live life the way the Spanish do, so as it cools down our evenings are spent outside and our evening meal is cooked and eaten on the terrace no earlier than 10pm, just the way the locals do it. :-)
