They are the phone and power cables and are everywhere in Spain, they don't put them underground especially not out in the campo where we are.
I'm so used to seeing them they don't bother me anymore, I don't even notice them, thought there are not as many as it looks here as thats because of the stitching. :-))

A wonderful view Meg. Are those Olive trees or Citrus on the hill sides? They appear to be organized the way trees are in groves and orchards. What can you say about them?
May 06 2008 14:38 GMT
There is a mix of trees there Larry, olive, orange, lemon, almond, fig, quince, pear & plum.
The oranges are the best and sweetest I've ever tasted, though the crop is mostly at an end for this season, when the blossom was on the trees for the next crop it smelt divine!
The lemons are just this week being harvested & the figs have now got a few ripe fruits on them. The plum tree on our neighbours land close to our front door has the fruit forming nicely, though unfortunately when it flowered we had four days of very strong winds before it had set fruit....the crop won't be as good as it might have been.
I'm looking forward to later in the year when they gather the olives from the back of our house, as there is quite a long drop from our back terrace I will be able to help them beat the tops of the trees there to release the olives.
We are so fortunate here in the Guadalhorce Valley, the soil is very fertile and the irrigation system is good which gives this area such wonderful fruit and makes it a much greener place to live than most of the Costa del Sol.
